Injured Vets Need YOU!

Unfortunately, some of the soliders, sailors, national guardsmen, airmen, coastguardsmen, and marines fighting for our freedom have been wounded in these conflicts, and require a wide range of physical and emotional treatment resources to aid in their recovery.

What's New:

My Next Marathon will be the Saint Jude Memphis Marathon

My First Marathon of 2009 will be the Vermont City Marathon

I will be running the Saint Jude/Memphis Marathon to raise funds for the Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital on December 6, 2008. If you wish to sponsor me for this race ONLY, please go to http://www.stjudeheroes.org/users/hanksrun

In addition, I will be training hard for the Vermont City Marathon on May 24, 2009 (it's close enough to home that I can drive with my dog) in support of the Hope for the Warriors Project.

If you are interested in supporting me in either of these worthy causes, please go to the "Contact Me" section of this site and read the information posted or drop me a line!

Hank's Run for Hope for the Warriors*

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

I successfully completed the 8th Annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon on Sunday, April 27, 2008. My net time was 4:22:15, which is approximately a 10-minute per mile pace.

This is a GREAT race! If you are a runner, I strongly encourage you to participate in next year's event. The OKC Memorial Marathon website is located at http://www.okcmarathon.com

ANOTHER MARATHON IS IN THE BAG!

On Saturday, October 18, 2008, I ran the Amica Insurance Breakers Marathon (http://www.breakersmarathon.org) in Newport, RI, essentially as a "training run" to prepare for the Saint June/Memphis Marathon.

And what a "training run" it was! In addition to a beautiful scenic course on a crisp fall day, I was "treated" to several long uphill sections which should help better prepare me for the Memphis Marathon on December 6th.

My overall time (i.e., "gun-time") was 4:58:24. While certainly not my best time, this was a tough, hilly course and served its purpose as a long slow distance run in order to prepare for me for a December marathon.
